Every year we update and upgrade all of our servers. This is typically done early in the year (January & February). We will start working on our servers January 25th. Once a server is fully updated and upgraded a server reboot is required. Radio stations and access to your Centova Cast panel will down during this reboot process. ReliaStream server techs will be doing the following...

  1. Dedicated server software updates
  2. Update Centova Cast software to ver 3.2.12
  3. Upgrade all SHOUTcast 2.5 to latest SHOUTcast 2.6.x
  4.  Upgrade all IceCast v2 servers to latest IceCast v2 software
  5.  Upgrade all IceCast KH servers to latest IceCast KH software
  6.  Update all Google maps and remove developers message
  7.  Add named url's to all servers (each server will feature both ip and named url)
  8.  Apply https to named Centova Cast url's.. Centova Cast widgets (should fix web site issues)

NOTICES

SHOUTcast v2 Broadcasters: If you still see ver 2.5 in your SHOUTcast admin area please do a quick server restart or stop and start your server to refresh your SHOUTcast to ver 2.6.x

SHOUTcast 2.6.x Broadcasters: When you log into your Centova Cast panel you may see a warning message pop up in upper right corner about not being listed on the SHOUTcast directory. If you are not registered with SHOUTcast you will need to do this to get listed.

SHOUTcast 2.6.x no longer supports AAC as a free encoder option. Be sure to switch your encoder to MP3 format. SHOUTcast no longer permits MP3 streaming over 128 kbps without paying an extra monthly fee. If you plan to broadcast over 128 kbps you will need to sign up on the SHOUTcast web site and start paying them an extra monthly fee.

Members are Switching to IceCast software for free no restrictions broadcasting. Centova Cast has made this a pretty simple process with their new version. Members who wish to remain an AAC streaming station can request a move to IceCast (the better choice now a days). There are no extra fees, no mp3 license, no max kbps limits, no authhash, and no other issues to deal with when using Icecast. Simply open a support ticket requesting a move to IceCast with Liquid Soap. Once this process is completed you will be able to broadcast AAC, OPUS, or MP3.

These are the main areas we will be working on this time around. More updates or upgrades may follow and we will be sure to post notices in the event more upgrades are needed.
